Why I Started Andalusia Casa?
A few years ago, I flew to Málaga for the first time. Andalusia immediately appealed to me — its climate, landscape, culture, people and food.
Then came our first trip to Cómpeta. Mountains, beautiful views and plenty of bends on the road up from the coast. We later returned and started looking for a place of our own.
We weren't looking for a resort development. We were looking for a genuine Spanish setting, local life and an international community. Somewhere we could learn Spanish, go out for coffee or dinner, and still reach the sea in half an hour. We found it in Cómpeta.
The more time we spent in the region, the more we came to appreciate what makes this part of Andalusia special. It wasn't just the beautiful countryside, historic towns or traditional villages. It was also the little things — neighbours greeting each other with a friendly “¡Hola!” in the street, conversations over coffee and the feeling of being part of a local community. That everyday warmth and sense of connection stayed with me.
As I shared our experiences, friends and people around me became curious. They started asking about the area, what life was like there and what it would take to buy a property of their own. I realised there was genuine interest in a part of Spain that many people had yet to explore.
At the same time, I noticed that much of the international property market focuses on the better-known parts of the Costa del Sol. Yet eastern Málaga and Axarquía have so much to offer, particularly to people looking for something beyond the typical resort lifestyle.
That's how the idea for Andalusia Casa took shape. I wanted to bring this side of Andalusia closer to people who share an interest in its culture, character and way of life — and help them find a place of their own.
I've spent over 20 years working in commercial real estate and advising international clients. Andalusia Casa brings together that professional background, my own experience of buying property in Spain and a genuine personal connection to the region.
My aim is to help buyers make informed decisions, with a personal approach built around their individual priorities rather than simply presenting properties for sale.
